I decided to purchase this particular KidKraft Kitchen for my little 6 yo friend, “Bug”, for Christmas, who LOVES helping me in the kitchen when we are together. This kitchen is sort of a replica of her home kitchen and I wanted her to have the feeling of 'cooking' in her own kitchen. I LOVE this KidKraft item because of the real-life components. “Bug” has down syndrome and I felt this would be an excellent way for her to practice doing little things even better in the kitchen. Her Father sent this picture yesterday after putting it together. Ty

I just want to says this is an adorable pastel kitchen. It truly is darling and my 3 year old daughter was the happiest I have ever seen her when we surprised her with it. She plays with her kitchen at least twice a day for a good half hour until she is bored and on to the next task. The only negative things I have to say about this wooden kitchen is that it does take a great deal of time to assemble. In my husband's case, he took well over 2 hours +. Also, your child will have to use a great deal of imagination because the kitchen doesn't have any special sound affects or “neat” gadgets like all these plastic modern kitchens at the stores however, I promise you once you put this thing together you will notice how cheap the plastic pricey ones at the store look. This kitchen is sturdy and it looks of quality. We are happy and we know it will stay in our family for many years to come.

My 17-month-old daughter absolutely loves the kitchen. It is a huge hit in our house. I put it in our kitchen so she “cooks” while I do. It took a little while to put together (1 person, about 3+ hours), but it wasn't hard – just a lot of pieces. For as wonderful as the kitchen is, the plastic food that comes with it is terrible. Cheap junk that hardly resembles food; I hung on to a couple of them and donated the rest.

Anyone who says they assembled this in two hours might not be being totally truthful with you. Or, maybe they just didn't care how it came out. Or, maybe you're simply reading a fake review. Or, maybe they've already assembled a couple before this one. If you are somewhat picky about the assembly, you certainly WILL NOT do it in two hours! So, let's be reasonable. I am a very experienced do-it-yourselfer, and it took the wife and I five hours. That included a careful inventory of the parts before starting, lunch while working, one or two heated arguments, and three fixes during the assembly to correct out-of-whack or ill-fitting factory parts. One of the fixes involved a radial arm saw. A carefully-used electric screwdriver will make it much easier. But, it's very easy to crack the weak, thin particle board parts with any torque at all, so a regular screwdriver should be used for the final torque. Someone mentioned that the kitchen must be of “good quality” because it weighs so much. Actually, it weighs so much because weak particle board is heavier than heck. Item came FedEx in a box measuring 45″ X 18″ X 7″. It weighed 75 pounds. Shockingly, there was no damage at all to the parts. Pictures show the box immediately after opening, and the kitchen packed and ready to go to the granddaughter's house. The box contains about 6000 pieces of oddly-shaped styrofoam to protect everything. The instructions are not written – they simply show the assembly through a (numerous) series of diagrams. Everything is very well-labeled, and no errors were detected in the “instructions.” The assembled product is sturdy, with the exception of the doors. The doors are an engineering weak point. Any pressure against the door in the wrong direction is going to snap it right off. Just make sure you don't snap it off during assembly; let the kid do that later. It does look especially nice when assembled, if you care about what the thing will look like in your living room. Do not be a fool and wait until Christmas Eve to assemble this thing!

I got this kitchen for my 2, 5, and 9 year olds and cannot say enough good things about it. I literally spent hours researching different kitchens, and I am so glad I went with this one. The kitchen is extremely well made, very solid, and was not bad to put together. One tip though, if you turn the box of screws, etc. over and label the items and cut the paper and remove them as needed it makes the project so much easier, you don't have to hunt for each piece. You can't go wrong with this at all.

A great kitchen to keep 2 to 5 year old children busy and happy. Has lots of functions to pretend play like a sink for washing, stove for cooking, oven for baking, dishwasher for cleaning, microwave for heating and refrigerator and freezer to keep food cool and freezing. Lots of storage space for pretend foods, dishes, utensils and pots and pans when playtime is over. I like that the countertops are high so my two year old can grow and use for several years. Her older friends can enjoy the space too.

This kitchen is very sturdy, well made and should last my 2 year old for many years. It took quite a while though for my husband and I to assemble it. We started putting it together Christmas Eve after our daughter went to bed. Big mistake! It took a little over 3 hours. There are lots of parts and the packet containing all of the hardware was damaged in shipment so all of the bolts, screws, etc. spilled out and were all over the place. Five very tiny screws we never found and had to obtain more. Also, the pre-drilled holes on the microwave door were drilled into the wrong side, so we haven't yet put the closing mechanism on that door so it doesn't snap shut. Right now though, our daughter hasn't even noticed because she plays with the lower cabinets and the fridge and stove. Even with those minor issues, I still rate this product at 5 stars. It seems a good value as well when compared to some other similar products.

I was very pleased with this kitchen set, my little girl just absolutely loved it. Her Nanna and Pa purchased this as a Christmas present for her and she was very interested in it and didn't want to open up any of her other gifts. Since then she has played with it several times. She is only one year old and I think she will get several years of enjoyment out of this. The assembly did take some time to complete, but I was really impressed with the detail even on the screws, the head of each screw was painted to match the panel it went on, i.e. white, wood color, and pink.

Love love LOVE this little play kitchen! Got it for my 2 yr old daughter, and thought it would be much bigger than it actually is from the pictures.. pleasantly surprised it isn't because it fits her perfectly, she's little, so it's not too big for her. It did take dad quite a while to put together, there's like 50 pieces but its sturdy and super cute! She loves it!!
