In my head I thought this desk would arrive with pieces that snap into place. Instead I received a bag full of screws, confusing instructions (thank goodness for the pictures), and pieces with no holes. Trying to drill the screws thru the plastic without pre drilled holes by hand without electric tools while holding two pieces together and still was a bit more difficult and a lot more frustrating than I would have liked. Also the chair did not just pop into place as indicated. I had to phone a friend who came with a friend. We all gave it a few goes. When it finally popped into place we high fixed and picked it up to put it under the desk so we could take a picture and it fell apart. I gifted it that way having completely given up. Overall once I got it together I was in love. It's sturdy, looks just like the picture and is just the right size and shape. I bought this for a friends daughter and I know she will not only absolutely love it but get to use it for a few years. I recommend this product, but advise you bring a friend to help out it together.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from Perfect for my little Picasso! We recently purchased the Deluxe Art Master Desk for our 4 year old’s birthday and totally love it! It was relatively easy to put together, although you’ll need a drill since there are no pre-drilled holes. The light is bright enough to light up what she is working on and the desk is the perfect height for her. It fits great in our living room and I love that it has lots of storage. The only thing I think it’s missing is a clip to hold paper in place when she’s drawing/painting. The white board is great, but it makes for a slippery surface when she colors so a clip would have been nice. Other then that it’s wonderful and we love it. Worth the money! Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous from Good desk Good concept, but the construction was a bit rough since there are no pre-done holes to screw the desk together. Overall, it is a decent buy since there is not much out there that is as good as this one. There is definately an opportunity to improve. Date published: 2014-10-14

Step 3: ChairShow All Items To make the chair, cut the pin off of a thumbtack, leaving the disc-shaped part.  Make the legs from a paperclip using needlenose pliers.  This is done by creating a sort of “M” shape, with the top parts flat, then bending it into a round shape to fit the thumbtack piece.  Use superglue to attach it as shown.  To create the back, cut the pin off another thumbtack.  Break the saved piece of wood in half and superglue them at a right angle.  Glue the angle piece to the bottom of the seat and the back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Preschooler Approved!! This desk arrived several weeks ago. It arrived quickly, was easy to assemble and my 3 year old has spent hours at a day at it since it arrived. I knew she liked art, but this has made it become almost an obsession. It it perfectly sized for her (although 3, she is the size of a 4.5 year old), everything is easily reached and stored. It’s easy to clean and she loves the little light above her work area. I would recommend this to anyone with an art happy preschooler. Date published: 2012-02-12

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Great Buy This was purchased for my 3 year old son. It’s perfect for him. It will last a long time, I could see him still using this til approx age 5 then passing it on to my unborn child. Has lots of compartments to store crayons, books, paper, paint, etc. All within easy reach for him. Cup holders can hold markers or crayons, also great for holding cup of water so he can waterpaint. I ultimately chose this design because of the chair, I didn’t like the stool option. This is a great buy and I’m glad I chose this over the other desks. Date published: 2011-04-26

I bought two of these desks. One for each of my four year old twins. They absolutely love them. They were super easy to put together. The only thing I must mention is that the legs on the chairs have to be together in the right direction or the back for the seat will not fit. I found this out after trying to force the back on one of the chairs for 30 min before changing the direction of the legs. LOL now, but not then. I love all the compartments. I just wish that my children like to put their art in them instead of all over my floor. Anyway, they especially like the light. It works really well. They even came in handy one night when the power went out. My son's idea. They are sturdy and have held together remarkable well.
